Identifying features- Its color of green or greenish blue back with silvery sides. White underneath. Colors darken when fish enters fresh water to spawn. Belly with thorny scales forming distinct keel. One or more dark spots in a row behind gill cover. Lower jaw with pointed tip that fits into v-shaped notch in upper jaw. Size - mostly 2 to 3 lbs upto 5 lbs.
